I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
